What do you think? I was quite impressed! Lorraine (my friend from WW) did my hair and makeup for me and I had some bargains from Blue Banana for the outfit!
Also, how cool is Ben’s hair style? I had some fun with the hair clippers last night! This morning we have shaved the rest off as don’t think his employer would be too happy…

I’ve just ordered £150 worth of shoes to try – couldn’t decide on the colour or style so thought “what the heck” – with free postage and free returns along with a credit card there seems to be no harm in doing this. I’ll only keep one pair, two at the most (probably some heels and some flats). Will let you know how I get on with them!!
…in the 100lb club (by the skin of my teeth but I’m satisfied to say I’m there). I’m 11 st 13 now.
I ate out on Saturday, Sunday and yesterday – none of the places I went to could give me nutritional values so that is the pointing pretty well out. I don’t want to gain weight; I knew that at the start of the week but I reckon it is probably going to happen. Off out with the WW clerks for tea tonight too – no rest for the wicked?!? I always find it semi-strange that we go out for meals as a group from WW – does that not defeat the object?
Audition workshop for choir went well last night, just have to survive the auditions on Sunday now…
Last April I put a vito on lifts as I felt I was just being too lazy in using the lift to get up the three floors to my office rather than walking. Up until now I have only used a lift a handful of times (in any place), due to having very large or heavy things to carry or for instance, having foot pain due to my sesamoiditis. There were also a couple of instances in Italy in the summer when I was so knackered from cycling 30 miles that I couldn’t face the stairs!
Last week, the car park that the council provided to us got closed and we have been moved to a new one. We have to park on level 4 or above and the lifts don’t get turned on until 9.30. I counted this morning and it was 120 steps(ish) down to street level. Now the 69 up to my office don’t look half as bad. I was on the bus yesterday so haven’t tried walking up the stairs to the car yet but I think it might kill me! Level 4 is the LOWEST we can park on so the fact that I get to work early means that is where I am for now. Later in the day when I have been out to visits and come back I might be on floor 10,00000!!
I will let you know how I get on but the lift veto may have to change slightly. I will always walk down the stairs but I might not have time nor energy to get back up (as am normally in a rush when going out).
This is also going to be the end of me carting things like buggies around in my car (had to bring one in to work last week which I had picked up the day before). Ben and I had enough trouble carrying it down 4 small flights of stairs in the old car park, let alone trying getting it down 7-8 flights! How do people with young children (or, shock horror, the disabled) manage for god’s sake?
I’ll stop moaning now, have to go and learn my words for my choir audition workshop tonight (last minute as per ususal). When will I learn to prepare more?
Believe it or not but this very green concoction is pretty tasty! It is called La Torta Verde and is very yummy. I was surprised seeing as it is full of spinach and was pleased to learn that it was 1.5 points per slice.
La Torta Verde – 19 points per recipe, 1.5 points per slice (serves 12)
Preparation time – 15 minutes
Cooking time – 40-50 minutes
Cooking temperature – 190°C
Ingredients
2 packs of fresh spinach, chopped
1 vegetable stock cube
3 eggs, beaten
70g reduced fat cheddar, grated
200g Arborio/risotto rice
1 onion, chopped
Method
1. Cover rice with boiling water and stock cube and cook until water is absorbed and rice is cooked (should have a creamy appearance).
2. Sauté onion with fry light or a little stock.
3. Add chopped spinach to onion and cook for a further few minutes until wilted.
4. Leave spinach and rice to cool.
5. Add egg and cheddar to the spinach and rice and mix well—this may seem a bit runny but it
will set when cooked.
6. Spread in an ovenproof tray.
7. Cook until firm—usually 40-50 minutes.
8. To test if cooked, poke with a cocktail stick. If it comes out clean, it is cooked.
9. Leave to cool, cut into slices and enjoy.
…of these?

I was thinking they might go well with my dress (the colour of the dress is slightly more vibrant in reality than the photos below).
Only thing is that they are £40 and I’m not meant to really wear heels (ahem) but they look so lovely!!! There are good reviews on the website saying they are comfy.
So, if these don’t work out I need some size 9 black or pink satin shoes – any help in finding them will be gratefully appreciated!!
Saturday: all you can eat Chinese/Thai buffet. Delicious, unpointable, three courses. Was so full that couldn’t contemplate going back for more.
Sunday: Gourmet Burger Kitchen chorizo burger and chips. Very yummy and filling, couldn’t consider tea!! Guesstimate 15 points as GBK are working on developing their nutritional values – website states that this may take a few months!!
Excerise: 5 games of 10 pin bowling last night and 2-3 mile walk today. Ceroc tomorrow night.
I’ve been a bit naughty but have had a good weekend!!

I weigh the same as last week…11 stone 13.5.
Happy?
Not sure!! I would have liked to lose maybe half a pound to get me further away from 12 stone.
I did exercise this week (Ceroc for 7-8 hours) which is quite unusual and I ate some of my exercise points. Also I added 4 points per day as was struggling on 20.
In the long run I maintained which is what I am meant to be doing so I should probably not be fussing!!! I think it just worries me that Sam was wanting to put my goal down to 12 stone so I don’t have so much leeway.
Right then, 22 points per day this week. I want to get to 11 stone 12.
Off to find some WW snacks now as I’m starving!!! I’m sat right next to the shop table at my meeting!!
I’ve earned myself 9 bonus points today, and that is if I call my exercise “light”! I have been to a Ceroc Beginner’s Day in Penarth and learnt all 19 beginner’s Ceroc moves. It was very tiring but very good too. Met lots of lovely people and two who had actually been successful with the Lighter Life diet – it was interesting seeing that they were only eating apples at lunchtime. I love the reaction I get when I say I have to go to WW on a Wednesday night instead of going to Ceroc – people look dumbfounded at why on earth I would want to go – fantastic!
If you want to know more about Ceroc have a look here or watch this video! One day I will be good, but maybe not quite this good!
Funny how I am happier with more points? There was a debate on the WW message boards yesterday with someone who couldn’t eat all of their points (had eaten 9 out of something like 28 for the day and wasn’t hungry)…I’m not sure how they had managed that but I must say I love the WW mantra that you need to eat all of your points! Now that I have upped myself to 24 I have enjoyed my food more today. I had a treat of Thorntons choc buttons earlier (5 points) and we have had home made pizzas for tea. We had the mini pizza (5” diameter I think). We made 4 and I have had 1 so far and there is another for me later if I want it. This will take me slightly over for the day but its the weekend, so its fine!!! One day next week we have butternut squash soup planned so that’ll be a 6 point meal (with a baguette), so I can play some catch up!
I have a project at the moment which is to turn Goth for the night on February 6th for my friend’s party. I had great fun in Blue Banana yesterday and found a dress in the sale for £10. I also have purple and black striped tights and picked up some long lacey gloves today. I’ve also found some nice black jewellery and have worked out that I can reuse it with the black dress I bought the other day (wahey)! I’ve nicked this picture off the web but this is the dress – it is Hell Bunny brand which sounds quite cool to me and it should have cost £35! I just wish I had dark hair as then I could tint it purple like this – I think it looks great.
Going into Blue Banana dragged up some memories that for the past few years I have fancied getting my nose pierced (and they do it for £12). I have gone on and off the idea because I worry that my various employers (or my parents) might kill me (although currently I don’t have a uniform policy that I know of). I am an adult though and I think this is a decision that I can make for myself. The only thing is that I am not 100% sure I want it, just maybe 80%. We had a look at the studs they use today and they are nice little ones so it would look dainty rather than standing out too much. I just don’t know though…any comments for an indecisive person?
